Vision & Strategy

ALL ABOUT NEXT

At Création Gross, we understand sustainability as an ongoing process that is firmly embedded in our corporate strategy. In our business activities, we take into account the responsible use of resources and raw materials, as well as the respectful treatment of people and the environment.
Under our guiding principle “ALL ABOUT NEXT,” we continuously work to ensure transparency in our sustainability activities and to further develop them in a targeted manner.

The foundation of our approach is a structured materiality analysis, combined with alignment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We place great importance on ensuring that our measures are transparent and verifiable.

Our objective is to secure the long-term, responsible development of our company through the forward-looking management of risks and opportunities.

To this end, we have structured our strategy around four key pillars that define our contribution to a more sustainable future:

Transparency

We provide clarity on our processes and supply chains to enable an objective assessment of our performance and to support informed decision-making.

Decarbonization

We actively work to sustainably reduce our carbon footprint and mitigate climate change.

Circular Economy

We are committed to extending product life cycles and reducing waste in order to conserve resources.

Measurability

We systematically track and evaluate our progress to continuously review and improve our targets.

Transparency & Supply Chain

Where does my product come from?

The quality of our products begins long before the finished garment and is closely linked to our supply chain. For this reason, we ensure that our products are manufactured under socially responsible and environmentally appropriate conditions. Transparency and clearly defined standards are key elements of our approach.

Digital Traceability with Retraced

The quality of our products begins long before the finished garment and is closely linked to our supply chain. For this reason, we ensure that our products are manufactured under socially responsible and environmentally appropriate conditions. Transparency and clearly defined standards are key elements of our approach.

Digital Traceability with Retraced

Since 2024, we have been working with the Düsseldorf-based start-up Retraced. This platform enables us to efficiently capture and manage supplier data. Our goal is to achieve comprehensive, end-to-end traceability of our products over the long term and to increase transparency across the entire supply chain.

Risk Management

We systematically identify and assess potential human rights and environmental risks within our supply chain. These include, among others, issues such as child labor, working hours, occupational health and safety, as well as corruption and bribery. In cases where deviations are identified, we work closely with our partners to implement appropriate corrective actions and monitor their progress.

Climate Protection & Carbon Footprint

Measurable Responsibility – our contribution to climate action

TOTAL EMISSIONS IN 2024 (CO2e): 8.701,1 t

We systematically track our greenhouse gas emissions to understand the impact of our business and to derive targeted measures for their reduction. Since 2019, we have been preparing regular carbon footprint assessments, covering both direct and indirect emissions, which form the basis of our climate strategy.

Our 2024 carbon footprint

In 2024, our total emissions amounted to 8,701.1 metric tons of CO₂-equivalents (CO₂e). The largest share, 91.0%, stems from Scope 3 emissions, which occur across the upstream and downstream value chain, including transportation, suppliers, and product use. Direct emissions from our operations account for the remaining portion.

Next Steps

Based on our carbon footprint, we are currently developing a climate strategy to systematically reduce emissions throughout the entire value chain and to transparently document our progress.

Circular Economy

Designing products for a circular lifecycle

Our goal is to design products so that they remain in use for as long as possible, can be reused, and ultimately recycled at the end of their lifecycle. This approach helps us reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and promote a genuine circular economy.

Circular Design

We invest in developing products that are designed from the outset for durability, reparability, and recyclability. Internal responsibilities for circular design have been defined, and we continuously expand our expertise in this area.

Extending Product Lifecycles

Repair & Care Services: We are exploring the introduction of repair services; even today, we offer spare parts and minor alterations at our Hersbruck location.

Internal Reuse System

Unsold products, sample items, and production surpluses are marketed, among other ways, through our seven outlet stores. This creates an efficient internal reuse system and reduces waste.

Donations to Social Organizations

Garments that can no longer be sold are donated to charitable organizations, such as OASE – Hilfe für Menschen in Not in Hersbruck.

Materials & Certifications

Transparency and Verified Standards

Additional priorities are set within the brands.

The choice of materials has a significant impact on the sustainability of a product. Our Materials and Fiber Policy serves as a guideline for product management and procurement and is regularly updated to reflect current market and environmental developments.

Certified Materials

A portion of our products is certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). These standards ensure that ecological and social requirements are met throughout the entire supply chain and that the certified materials are actually present in the final product.

Milestones and Targets

We pursue clear objectives: by 2027 and 2030, the share of natural and recycled materials is to be increased, while the use of polymers is to be reduced. In doing so, we focus on organically grown and recycled fibers, whose production takes animal welfare and ecological farming practices into account.

Chemical Management

Our in-house Restricted Substances List (RSL) sets limits for chemicals. In addition, independent accredited laboratories conduct random chemical tests to ensure the safety of our products.
